Job summary

Walla Walla County is seeking a Groundskeeper/Facilities Maintenance Technician I to maintain county grounds and facilities indoors and outdoors year-round. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and combines independent daily tasks with team projects.

The position requires a high school diploma, relevant maintenance training, and extensive experience in landscaping, irrigation, chemical application, and plant knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least three years of education and/or training in maintenance.
• Ten years' experience or a combination in landscaping, irrigation, chemical application in fertilizers and weed control, pruning and plant knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and facilities indoors and outdoors; perform daily maintenance tasks.
• Work independently and with the team on larger projects under the Facilities Manager guidance.
• Ensure county grounds, buildings, and public spaces are safe, clean, and attractive year-round.
