Job summary

Walla Walla County is seeking a Groundskeeper/Facilities Maintenance Technician I to maintain county grounds and facilities, indoors and outdoors. The role performs daily tasks independently and collaborates on larger projects under the Facilities Manager's direction.

The position covers spring through fall grounds maintenance and winter custodial/facility support, ensuring safe, clean, and welcoming spaces for staff and the public. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years education and/or training in maintenance.
• Ten (10) years' experience or any combination of experience in landscaping, irrigation, chemical application in fertilizers and weed control, pruning and plant knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and upkeep of county grounds and facilities, indoors and outdoors.
• Execute daily tasks independently, collaborate on larger projects under supervision.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and welcoming public spaces year-round.
