Job summary

Beaufort County is seeking a groundskeeper/custodian to perform ground keeping and basic custodial work in the assigned area. The role supports environmentally safe, attractive, clean and efficient spaces for employees and the public.

Responsibilities include lawn care, irrigation work, trash removal, light repairs, and general maintenance. A valid driver’s license is required; a background check and drug screen may apply.

Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Requires a short demonstration up to and including one month of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Assist in property maintenance by removing roadside trash and illegal dump sites.
• Transports litter to landfills and recyclables to facilities.
• Performs basic lawn care and landscaping tasks; trims trees and hedges.
• Cleans equipment and tools and maintains storage area cleanliness.
• Responds to emergencies to confine, resolve, or prevent hazardous conditions.
