Job summary

Prince William Golf Course in Nokesville, VA, is seeking a part-time Grounds Crew member. As part of Troon, you will join a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization and help maintain the golf course grounds.

You will assist with mowing greens and surrounding areas, irrigation, plant care, and general landscape tasks, while learning from experienced crew and contributing to a globally recognized golf operations leader.

Qualifications

• Experience with landscaping on a golf course preferred.
• Ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping.
• Ability to create spray programs for greens, tees, and fairways.
• Ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations.
• Ability to give oral and written instructions.
• Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, and general ground preparation.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility.
• Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas.
• Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads as needed.
• Repairs irrigation system, pipes, and heads as needed.
• Grades and prepares soil base; lays sod and seeds greens, tees, fairways.
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds.
• Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Pay

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour

General Purpose

The Groundskeeper is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
• Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas
• Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes, and irrigation heads as needed
• Grades and prepares soil base; lays sod and seeds greens, tees, and fairways
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
• Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess the ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course
• Experience with operating greens and fairway mowers preferred
• Must possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and landscaping
• Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations
• Ability to give oral and written instructions
• Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
• Must be dependable
