Job summary

Forest Greens Golf Club in Triangle, VA is seeking a Groundskeeper II to support golf course maintenance and construction. The role involves operating various landscape tools and machinery, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in golf course maintenance, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds (50 with assistance). This is a hands-on, fast-paced hospitality-focused property within Troon.

Responsibilities

• Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment.
• Rakes sand traps with power rake, aerifies greens and tees.
• Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
• Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
• Operates walking equipment in mowing greens collars and tees.
• Assists with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways and rough areas.
• Operates riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough.
• Operates sod cutter, trencher and tamper for routine projects.
• Operates dump truck and tractors for hauling purposes.
• Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).
• Assists with golf course set-up procedures.
• Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
• Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
• Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Forest Greens Golf Club, located in Triangle, VA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Groundskeeper II! Pay Range

$12.77 to $15.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

General Purpose

Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks.

Education/Experience

• Less than high school education; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly talks or hears. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Environment/Noise

• Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and works near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme heat (non-weather) and experiences vibration. Noise level is loud.
