Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Grounds Person to care for lawns, trees, shrubs and ground cover at Mallard Cove in Midlothian, VA. The role is essential during inclement weather and requires physical work outdoors in various temperatures.

Responsibilities include mowing, watering, sprinkler maintenance, applying fertilizers and pesticides as directed, pruning, drainage work, and keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice. Ability to lift 50 lbs (100 with assistance) is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain curb appeal and property appearance; daily trash pickup
• Perform watering as needed and maintain sprinkler system
• Apply insecticides, fertilizers, and herbicides as directed
• Mow, trim, reseed, and replant lawns; prune trees and shrubs
• Correct drainage issues and maintain sidewalks/steps for safe access
• Keep work area safe and abide by safety equipment requirements
• Perform light maintenance tasks as assigned

To be responsible for the care of lawns, trees, shrubs, and ground cover so they stay in green, healthy, eye-appealing condition. Grounds Person is essential personnel during inclement weather.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain curb appeal. This includes maintaining both the condition and appearance of the property. Daily pick-up of trash on the property. Be dependent and flexible Be a team player
• Perform watering as needed.
• Maintain the sprinkler system.
• Use insecticides, fertilizers and herbicides as directed.
• Mow and trim lawns.
• Re-seed lawns and re-plant, if necessary.
• Properly stake trees.
• Pick up refuse on the lawns each morning.
• Weed lawns and all other planted areas.
• Properly prune trees and shrubs.
• Make drainage corrections.
• Maintain all sidewalks and steps to be free of snow and ice. To maintain safe ingress and egress for all residents.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment
• Knowledge and use of Safety Equipment
• Able to work in all temperatures and weather conditions.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. along and 100 lbs. with assistance
• Perform light maintenance tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
