Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman to join our power grid construction and maintenance team. You will assist the crew in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems, reporting to the Foreman.

This is an entry-level role with a strong safety culture. You will work outdoors in all weather, operate and assist with excavation equipment, and be available for outages, storm response, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems with safety first.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and environmental factors.
• Be available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and insulation PPE awareness.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE; understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor as required.
