Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is hiring a Groundman to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. The role reports to the Foreman and involves assisting the crew with hands-on tasks in outdoor environments.

Applicants should be prepared for physically demanding work, travel, and a schedule that may include outages, storms, and emergencies while adhering to strict safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, emergencies and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
• Assist in installing and repairing underground facilities, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, excavators and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.).
• Be available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotations.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and insulated protective measures.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
