Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC in Knoxville seeks a Groundman to support our power grid construction teams with underground distribution work. You will assist in building, repairing and maintaining underground systems, reporting to the Foreman and prioritizing safety.

This is a physically demanding role requiring outdoor work in all weather, potential travel to out-of-town sites, and availability for outages, storms, and on-call rotations. CDL within 60 days is required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform rigorous physical labor.
• Work extended hours and overtime including weekends and holidays.
• Be available for outages, storms and emergency callouts.

Responsibilities

• Assist construction and maintenance of underground distribution systems.
• Help install and repair underground facilities and conductors.
• Maintain excavation equipment and operate tools.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Follow safety PPE protocols and inspect PPE and rubber goods.
• Report to Foreman and participate in on-call rotations.
