Job summary

PowerGrid Services, LLC seeks a skilled utility worker to construct, repair, and maintain underground electrical power lines and related infrastructure. You will read specifications, perform switching, operate digging equipment, and ensure safety on every job site.

The role requires CDL A, First Aid, CPR, and proven experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, and trenching. Travel and extended work periods in various weather are expected, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Requires Class A level experience installing and maintaining underground power lines.
  • Valid CDL A is required.
  • First Aid Certification is required.
  • CPR and pole top rescue competency is required.
  • Experience with digging equipment and utility crews is required.

Job description

Responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining electrical power systems that are located underground. This includes installing and repairing underground power lines, cables, and other electrical infrastructure. May also be involved in fault finding, troubleshooting, and fixing electrical issues.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must be Knowledgeable of all safety rules and follow them for the safety of the crew and public
  • Receive instructions, read prints, and specs.
  • Terminate and perform switching
  • Operate digging equipment
  • Complete pre-job briefings
  • Supervise job site if the foreman is not present
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Requires Class A level experience installing and maintaining underground power lines.
  • Valid CDL A is required.
  • First Aid Certification is required.
  • Competency in CPR and pole top rescue is required.
  • Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility crews is required.
  • Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination.
  • Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
  • Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.
  • Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.
  • Able and willing to work overtime when required.
  • Understanding of the utility industry and operations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
