Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an Engineering Specialist in the Enterprise Effects Division to drive concept exploration and design of ground systems for national space programs. You will work with cross‑functional teams across government and industry to develop innovative architectures and analysis tools.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, strong systems engineering skills and a current Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ground systems, spacecraft systems and systems engineering principles.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly and show initiative under pressure.
• 8+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience developing ground systems concepts.
• Experience in mission control or mission processing systems for space systems.
• Experience with concurrent engineering tools, processes and methodologies.
• Ability to work independently on long-term technical studies for dispersed programs.
• Occasional domestic travel.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required; U.S. citizenship needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide concept exploration and engineering support of ground systems for customer programs.
• Lead and participate in conceptual and preliminary design studies and trades of ground systems with multidisciplinary teams.
• Evaluate ground system design concepts and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with government and program office personnel and technical experts across Aerospace.
• Develop tools and models that support ground system concept design and analysis.
• Mentor junior members of the department.
