Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an experienced engineer to lead and conduct concept exploration for ground systems that support national space programs. You will work with cross‑functional teams to design, assess, and refine ground architectures and mission processing concepts.

You will mentor junior staff, develop analytical tools, and engage with government partners to deliver robust space system solutions. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required and occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ground systems and spacecraft systems.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Track record in developing ground systems concepts and mission processing.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure; willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Providing concept exploration and engineering support of ground systems for customer programs.
• Leading and participating in conceptual and preliminary design studies and trades of ground systems.
• Evaluating ground system design and architecture concepts and participating in design reviews.
• Collaborating with government and program office personnel and technical experts across Aerospace.
• Developing tools and models that support ground system concept design and analysis activities.
• Mentoring junior members of the department.
