Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking an experienced fleet maintenance leader to oversee preventive maintenance programs and maximize aircraft ground support equipment efficiency at our facility in Fort Lauderdale. The role involves detailed fleet recordkeeping, cost control, and compliance with specifications for aircraft parts and accessories.

The ideal candidate has several years in mechanical maintenance within industrial vehicle operations, including supervisory experience, and is capable of lifting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level courses in mechanical engineering, transportation management, and business administration are a plus.
• Five years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair in industrial vehicle operation; two years in administrative or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Directs a preventive maintenance program to minimize cost and maximize equipment use.
• Keeps detailed records of all fleet vehicles and tracks fleet expenses.
• Manages testing and inspection program to ensure quality, suitability, and compliance with specifications for vehicles, parts, accessories, and materials.
• Directs a quantity and quality control program to maintain satisfactory work performance.
• Plans, organizes, and directs work to meet objectives with efficient use of personnel, facilities, and equipment.

What you will be doing

• Directs a preventive maintenance program to minimize cost and maximize use of equipment.
• Detailed record keeping of all fleet vehicles and the organization and tracking of fleet expenses.
• Administers a testing and inspection program to determine quality, suitability, and compliance with specifications for vehicles, parts accessories, and materials.
• Directs a quantity and quality control program to maintain satisfactory levels of work performance.
• Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the duties to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities and equipment.

What we are looking for:

• Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency, preferably supplemented with college-level courses in mechanical engineering, business administration, transportation management, and business management.
• Five years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair in an industrial vehicle operation, including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
• Must be able to maximize fleet utilization and ensure maximum shop productivity.
• Must be able to lift continually up to 70lbs
• Must pass a drug test and a federal background check
• Must have own tools
