Job summary

Northwood Space, a modern space infrastructure company, seeks a Site Engineer Intern to design, build, and deploy hardware for a global network of ground stations. You will work directly with real hardware and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to complete projects on tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Ability to relocate to Los Angeles, CA for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• GPA 3.5 or above (preferred).
• Prior experience in designing, building, and testing electrical/mechanical systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own a ground station hardware (electrical and mechanical) project from inception to deployment.
• Build complex ground support equipment (GSE), wire harnesses, and test setups.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve site issues with urgency.
• Collaborate with mentor, and with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to complete projects.
• Learn and gain exposure to real world problems.
