Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking a Site Engineer Intern to design, build, and deploy hardware for our global ground station network. You will work directly with real hardware, spanning electrical and mechanical engineering as a jack-of-all-trades on cross-functional teams.

You will relocate to Los Angeles, CA for 12 weeks in Summer 2026, collaborating with mentors to deliver impactful, real-world solutions for satellite missions and critical operations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Willingness to relocate to Los Angeles, CA for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Ability to work in a professional team environment with engineers, management, technicians, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Own a ground station hardware project from inception through design, production, and field deployment.
• Build and test ground support equipment, wire harnesses, and GSE test setups.
• Assist with ongoing site operations and troubleshoot issues with urgency.
• Collaborate with mentors and cross-functional engineers to drive projects to completion.
• Gain hands-on experience with real hardware and complex systems.
