Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Ground Software System I&T Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join the Western Region Software Engineering team in Redondo Beach, CA. The role focuses on designing and integrating mission-critical ground software, including cloud-based backends and operator-facing tools, with opportunities for growth across programs.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in Python/ReactJS, cloud systems, and distributed architectures, plus the ability to mentor others and communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years or Ph.D. with 1+ year.
• For Sr. Principal: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years or Master’s with 6+ years or Ph.D. with 4+ years.
• Ability and willingness to obtain DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable period of time.
• Experience with cloud-based software systems and software design/tools.

Responsibilities

• Support Software Systems Engineering design and I&T.
• Represent NG in meetings with customers and partners.
• Design, develop, and integrate ground software including cloud backends and front-end tools.
• Develop modular architectures to improve maintainability and scalability.
• Apply strong problem-solving to address complex concepts.
• Prepare charts and present data to teams and customers.
• Mentor team members across multiple schedules with tight deadlines.
