Job summary

JBS USA in Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, test, repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in a production area.

You will develop and execute planned maintenance programs, deliver training for the maintenance team, and collaborate with corporate engineering on projects while ensuring compliance with safety programs. The position features rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School; Associate's in a technical/mechanical vocation preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience in an industrial production facility or trade experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

Job description

Purpose & Scope

Maintains, tests, repairs, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. This position applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to ensure consistent reliable operation of the technical equipment within and around a production area.

Principal Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Develop and execute planned maintenance programs for equipment within and supporting production areas.
• Develop and execute training for the maintenance team to ensure proper skill level is maintained to support the equipment for this operation.
• Work with the Corporate Engineering controls team to plan and execute technology based projects.
• Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal safety programs and work with the facility safety team to meet these requirements.

Working Conditions

• Physical demands: Climbing including ladders, lifting, working with a variety of hand and power tools, shop machines and tools.
• Work environment: Must be able to work in areas of heat and cold conditions.
• This position will work a rotating shift assigned to either days or nights.

Education

Minimum of High School. Preferred: Associate's in a technical or mechanical vocation.

Experience

1-2 years’ experience in an industrial production facility or trade experience preferred.

Compensation

Great pay and benefits.

Hours

Rotational, 12 hour shifts/4 days a week/3 days off. From 5:30 AM to 6:00 AM. Requires overtime work.
