Hours: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM

Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities, and Qualifications:

• Perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of surgical specimens for Histological processing, according to policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper specimen accessioning and labeling.
• Perform gross description and dissection of specimens received.
• Recognize when troubleshooting is needed for processing, embedding, cutting, staining.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.

Qualifications:

• Must qualify as a High Complexity Testing personnel under CLIA regulations—bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• 1 year experience in grossing preferred.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes, alarms.

• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high-volume laboratory with documented grossing experience.
