Job summary

Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ is seeking a Team Member for daily snow grooming and light maintenance of grooming equipment. You will learn grooming techniques and operate snow grooming machines.

The role requires ability to work night shifts, tolerate adverse weather, and maintain safety and attendance. A valid driver’s license and high school diploma are required.

Join a four-season resort team and help maintain trails and terrain features for guests.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Grooming experience preferred.
• Able to ski or ride proficiently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Mechanically inclined and safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Acquire the necessary skills to proficiently operate snow grooming and hauling vehicles, including blade and tiller operation.
• Assist with field troubleshooting, light repair and maintenance of department vehicles, implements and tools.
• Support other mountain departments and special events.
• Able to work rotating night shifts in adverse weather conditions.
• Maintain a good attitude and good attendance during scheduled work time.
• Learn grooming practices for ski trails and terrain parks and understand snow/weather changes.
• Acquire knowledge of Mountain Creek’s trail system, routes, lift locations and trail names.
• Assist in setup and cleanup of special events as required.
• Accountable for safety and housekeeping in work areas.

About Mountain Creek:

Mountain Creek, a four-season resort, offering skiing/snowboarding, bike park, waterpark, weddings, mountain coaster, restaurants, and lodge.

How the Groomer works with the Team:

Daily grooming of ski trails and terrain features on mountain. Operate and assist in light maintenance of all department vehicles and equipment. Learn the theory and practice of trail grooming on ski trails and terrain parks.

Team Member Responsibilities:

• Acquire the necessary skills to proficiently operate over the snow grooming and hauling vehicles including blade, and tiller operation.
• Assist with in field troubleshooting, light repair and general maintenance of department vehicles, implements and tools using vehicle write ups and operator log sheets.
• Perform assigned duties as required to support other mountain departments.
• Able to work rotating shifts at night in adverse weather conditions.
• Maintain a good attitude and good attendance during scheduled work time.
• Provide support for other mountain departments and special events.
• Learn company and industry grooming practices for ski trails and terrain parks as directed: grooming theory and techniques, changing snow and weather conditions, operating techniques and working around buildings, lifts and snowmaking equipment.
• Acquire knowledge of Mountain Creek's trail system: recommended hauling routes and roads, building and lift locations, ski trail names and numbers.
• Assist in set up and cleanup of special events as required.
• Accountable for safety and good housekeeping in work areas.
• Contribute to Team effort by performing other tasks assigned

Team Member Qualifications:
