Job Summary

Our Grocery Team Leaders lead the Grocery Department by supervising, directing, and managing Team Members, ordering products and supplies, and implementing merchandising initiatives to stimulate business growth while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits. Leaders are accountable for the department's operational performance at all times. Be a leader by representing the organization professionally. Promote and develop individuals with mutual respect, inclusion, diversity, and dignity. Coach Team Members regularly with timely feedback, identify opportunities for development, and coach for success.

Job Description

• Experience Required: Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation
• Experience Desired: Retail leadership or supervisory experience; successful performance as a Peer Trainer, in-store champion, or similar role; demonstrated product knowledge relevant to the department; satisfactory performance and discipline record
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification or Licensing Required: Food Safety
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Interview, select, and train Team Members
• Direct the work of Team Members
• Appraise Team Members’ productivity and efficiency for promotions or changes in status
• Handle Team Member issues, including complaints
• Discipline Team Members
• Plan and assign work tasks
• Ensure safety and security of Team Members and the store
• Manage department or store budget and inventory
• Monitor and implement compliance measures

Additional duties include providing training to reduce turnover, promoting an environment of inclusion and diversity, maintaining safety as a top priority, inspiring the team and guests, setting and reaching sales and profit goals, communicating effectively, and analyzing reports to improve performance.
