Job summary

WinCo Foods, LLC is seeking a Store Manager Apprentice to assist the Store Manager in planning, coordinating and managing store operations. You will help control costs, reach labor targets, and maintain a safe and pleasant shopping environment for customers and a productive workplace for employees.

You will oversee grocery dept., hire and train staff, monitor merchandising plans, and ensure product quality and stock levels.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year as Store Manager/Director or three years as Assistant Store Manager/Director, or equivalent management experience in a retail grocery store.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, interpersonal skills and composure with customers and co-workers.
• Supervisory skills: interviewing, scheduling, hiring, counseling, training, disciplining.
• Experience operating computers with Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail for monitoring progress and completing assignments.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication with co-workers, supervisors, buyers, etc.
• In MT and OR minimum age 18; otherwise 21 for other states.

Responsibilities

• Manage Grocery department ensuring compliance with policies, laws and the store’s bargaining agreement.
• Monitor store appearance, cleanliness, efficiency and productivity; align with store priorities.
• Maintain safe environment for customers and employees, controlling liabilities and workers’ comp costs.
• Lead by example; supervise hiring, training, and disciplinary decisions.
• Monitor labor productivity and implement merchandising plans.
• Perform Store Manager responsibilities in absence of Store Manager or as assigned.
• Ensure products are stocked, rotated and faced; discard outdated products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
