Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to guide day-to-day department operations and mentor team members, delivering exceptional customer service and sales results. The role includes scheduling, training, and ensuring product freshness and safety across their area.

You’ll lead by example, drive engagement, and collaborate with leaders to meet profitability targets while maintaining Meijer’s inclusive culture and strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Cross-train high-potential talent and provide peer coaching.
• Contribute to department scheduling to improve engagement, service, sales and profitability.
• Ensure freshness of products through proper rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team in food safety standards and safe operation.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and display tasks.
• Support Meijer culture and DEI initiatives.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help hit goals.
• May lead in other departments as needed.
