Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeps the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Builds displays to drive incremental sales. Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness. Keeps product within easy customer reach. Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
• Greets customers with a smile, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Uses proper stocking techniques to ensure products are correctly located, saleable, and properly priced with signs.
• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries, operating power or hand jacks if trained (training provided).
• Handles damaged or discontinued items per company policy, removing unsellable products.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the department, following schedules and guidelines to meet health and OSHA standards. Properly disposes of trash.
• Maintains productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control. Complies with security policies. Ensures stock is put out at an acceptable rate.
• May assist with baling cardboard or related duties if trained (training provided).
• Ensures department and store functions smoothly by cooperating with coworkers and supervisors. Focuses on continuous job performance improvement.
• Uses all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
• May be called upon to assist in other departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

• High School Diploma or working towards a GED. No prior experience required.
