Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Keeps the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Builds displays to drive incremental sales. Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness. Keeps products within easy customer reach. Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
2. Greets customers with a smile, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
3. Uses proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, with correct prices and signage.
4. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries using a power or hand jack (training provided).
5. Handles damaged or discontinued items per company policy, removing unsellable products.
6. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the department, following schedules and guidelines to meet health and OSHA standards. Disposes of trash properly.
7. Maintains productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control. Complies with security policies. Ensures stock is put out at an acceptable rate.
8. May assist with baling cardboard or related duties (training provided).
9. Ensures smooth department operation through cooperation with co-workers and supervisors. Seeks continuous improvement in job performance.
10. Uses all company-provided PPE, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
11. May assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requires a high school diploma or GED (no prior experience necessary).
