Kroger Family of Companies' Dillons store is seeking an Assistant GM Department Manager to plan, organize, staff, train, and direct GM Department associates. Qualifications

• Willing to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights and weekends/holidays.
• Understanding of key department operations: managing people, merchandising, inventory, scheduling, etc.
• Knowledge of employment laws and OSHA compliance.
• Ability to operate power machinery and job tools.
• Ability to make quick, intelligent decisions.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain a positive impression.
• Experience in production, merchandising and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in organizing work, staffing, training and scheduling employees so customers receive prompt, courteous service.
• Respond to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents, and questions.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Use CAO to manage ordering and balance on hand balance.
• Perform and direct pricing and display of merchandise.
• Maintain signage, rotation, quality, quantity and space for merchandise.
• Engage associates in merchandising techniques, customer service and promotions.
• Follow company programs and policies, including dress code, food safety, sanitation and harassment-free environment.
• Communicate with employees and customers to provide a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment and facilities in safe, compliant condition.
• Keep floor and shelves clean and up to sanitary standards.
• Support company initiatives and process improvements with direct reports.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and workload.
• Perform all duties as assigned.
