Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Vienna, VA seeks a motivated Team Member to support ordering, stocking, and merchandising of grocery products. You will participate in buying procedures, maintain back stock, and ensure accurate cycle counting while providing courteous service to customers and fellow team members.

Responsibilities include completing Order Writer training, managing perishable and non-perishable orders, monitoring open PO reports, controlling spoilage, and upholding health and safety

Qualifications

• 12+ months retail experience.
• Knowledge of grocery products and merchandising expectations.
• Ability to educate team on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm.
• Strong basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes Order Writer training.
• Replenishes products through proper buying procedures.
• Orders perishable and non‑perishable grocery products and maintains back stock.
• Monitors open PO reports for purchases and credits in a timely manner.
• Controls spoilage/shrink; participates in inventory and cycle counting.
• Completes inventory management processes and temperature/sweep worksheets as required.
• Ensures orders are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
• Oversees customer special order procedure.
• Analyzes and controls product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
• Supports leadership in conducting inventories.
• Maintains profitability by meeting purchasing and sales targets.
• Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; participates in trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling; answers phones promptly.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains clean environment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures pricing accuracy.
