Job summary

Jimbo in Carlsbad, CA seeks a Store Lead to oversee operations in the absence of the Store Manager and support department heads. You’ll ensure policy compliance, staff supervision, and a high standard of customer service in a busy grocery setting.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, staff training, and coordinating with department managers to meet store goals. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work evenings/weekends. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and team-building skills.
• Proven communication skills necessary to create a sense of teamwork and effectively communicate.
• Role model customer service, communication, and organization skills.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Must be computer literate with experience in Windows, Outlook Express, Word and Excel.
• Ability to understand, follow, and enforce health regulations, and obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days of employment.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel and/or transfer to other store locations.

Responsibilities

• Enforce store/department policies, monitor staff breaks, minimize overtime, train new staff, and contribute to evaluations.
• Open/close department operations to support store.
• Supervise daily store operations and handle crisis-control situations.
• Provide model customer service and assist customers with questions.
• Respond to customer assistance pages from Deli, Front End, and Meat Departments.
• Perform opening/closing duties at store and department levels.
• Promote a positive, safe, and clean shopping environment.
• Communicate concerns and feedback to Store Manager.
