• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions; make product recommendations.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads (present, future, seasonal, and special).
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers; maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair to management.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks and illegal activity (robbery, theft, fraud).
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
