Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions about products.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of grocery specials.
• Check product quality for freshness; review dates and manage stocking and labeling of merchandise; provide customers with fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report needs for repair to management.
• Notify management of accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
