Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a capable Grocery Clerk to plan, organize, train and direct store associates while performing production and customer service tasks. You will maximize store sales and profits, model company values, and ensure a safe, respectful work environment.

You will organize schedules, assist customers, manage merchandise ordering, pricing and display, and participate in special projects. Strong teamwork, compliance with policies, and the ability to handle pressurized situations

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, train and direct Grocery Clerks; perform production and customer service functions; maximize store sales and profits.
• Organize work, train and schedule associates to consistently provide prompt courteous service.
• Respond to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, and questions with professionalism.
• Use Computer Assisted Ordering to manage quantities of merchandise and balance on hand.
• Perform and direct pricing and merchandising; maintain signage, freshness, and space allocation.
• Engage associates in merchandising techniques and promotional activities.
• Implement company programs and maintain a harassment-free, safe work environment.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results to maximize sales and profits.
• Communicate with associates and customers to create a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment, facilities, and sanitary standards.
• Assist on special projects such as inventories, store resets, remodels and promotions.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; complete performance reviews.
