Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a department supervisor to lead grocery operations and deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will direct and supervise all department functions, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and adherence to company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

You will train associates, manage inventory and pricing, collaborate with store management on budgets and promotions, and support day-to-day grocery operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Any management experience.
• 1 year of grocery retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to food safety regulations; maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs.
• Report safety risks or incidents including robbery, theft or fraud; notify management.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and CAO systems.
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
• Schedule price changes and update shelf tags and promotions.
• Monitor inventory conditions and note discrepancies.
• Assist store management with budgeting, P&L reviews and action on financial reports.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; implement period promotional plans.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Understand store layout and product locations; respond to product questions.
• Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries.
