Meijer is seeking a results-oriented leader to direct operations and guide a team in day-to-day department activities. You will plan, coach, and empower team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve department goals.

You will mentor staff, manage scheduling, and uphold food safety and Meijer standards while driving sales and profitability. The role emphasizes teamwork, inclusive culture, and hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience and checkout.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Support training of new team members and cross-training of staff.
• Assist with department scheduling to boost engagement, service, and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness through rotation and dating policy adherence.
• Guide team on food safety standards and safe work practices.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display as applicable.
• Foster Meijer culture and inclusivity within the team.
• Operate register and handle cash when needed.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments when required.
