Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a store associate to engage with customers, operate the checkout, bag groceries, locate products, and verify prices. You will handle transactions, maintain accuracy of tender, and assist shoppers with queries in a fast-paced environment.

You will work in a retail store setting, maintaining cleanliness and compliance with policies while supporting a positive customer experience and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of age.
• TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct checkout totals by weighing, keying, and scanning items.
• Maintain accuracy of money in the register at all times.
• Memorize product codes and stay familiar with ads and specials.
• Follow tender policies for checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, and other methods.
• Provide friendly, customer-service oriented assistance and resolve questions or complaints.
• Encourage enrollment in the Thank You Card and assist sign-up when applicable.
• Bag groceries properly, keep items grouped and prevent cross-contamination.
• Maintain clean, safe front-end areas and store displays.
• Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.
• Comply with laws regarding tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, and pharmaceuticals where required.
