Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager on Duty to lead the Grocery Food Department and oversee the store when the Store Manager is unavailable. You will ensure inventory integrity, attractive merchandising, and safe, compliant operations while delivering strong customer service.

The role includes training staff, managing cash controls, scheduling coverage, and enforcing company policies. Prior supervisory or lead experience in grocery is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Authorize refunds and overrides; count register; deposit money.
• Maintain cash accountability and store security practices.
• Manage store in the absence of Store/Assistant Manager.
• Train employees as directed; supervise food department operations.
• Ensure proper stocking, rotation, and presentation of food items.
• Monitor inventory, pricing, signage, and plan‑ogram adherence.
• Direct unloading of deliveries and organize staging for new stock.
