Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Leader to manage the Food Department and assist in overall store operations when designated as the Manager on duty. You will ensure inventory accuracy, effective merchandising, and high-quality customer service while maintaining safety and asset protection standards.

Responsibilities include training staff, handling refunds and overrides, enforcing cash controls, and coordinating scheduling. Prior retail leadership experience is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years retail clerk experience; lead experience preferred.
• Attainment of local/state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to perform cash handling and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Grocery Food Department and store in manager on duty status.
• Ensure inventory management, merchandising, and customer service quality.
• Authorize refunds/overrides and maintain cash controls and deposits.
• Train staff and ensure compliance with safety and food handling rules.
• Coordinate scheduling and staff coverage; supervise operations in manager's absence.
• Direct receiving, stocking, rotation of perishable items and merchandising.
