Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking entry-level Grocery Team Members to support receiving, stocking, and displaying products while maintaining WFM standards. You will assist customers, participate in sampling programs, and follow health and safety rules on a fast-paced floor.

No prior retail experience is required. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, standing long hours, and flexible scheduling including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to sell proactively.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on various products.
• Ability to perform simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Keeps cases and shelves clean and well stocked, front-facing, rotates stock, and removes out-of-date products.
• Stocks and cleans grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen and dairy case.
• Monitors spoilage and communicates waste to buyers and shift supervisor.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Assists with sampling program and keeps sample areas full and appealing.
• Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Arrives on time and attends required trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service and answers phones promptly and courteously.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, and merchandising of products.
• Follows health/sanitation and safety procedures.
