Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise duties of department staff with ongoing performance management and appraisals.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to achieve productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership and motivation to reflect company guiding principles and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Deliver friendly customer service and maintain a positive shopping experience.
• Lead with knowledge of department products to meet customer expectations.
• Control store expenses through ordering, supplies, and equipment care.
• Use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling and CAO.
• Maintain department appearance, safety, quality, and sanitation.
• Ensure appropriate scheduling to provide extraordinary service.
• Understand scheduling, sales projections, wage percent, and hiring processes.
• Ensure proper ordering, receiving, and display of merchandise per guidelines.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions; record accidents per procedures.
• Monitor shrink and coach associates to prevent losses.
• Assist with physical inventory auditing twice yearly.
• Ensure advertising materials and signage are properly utilized.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Maintain security standards and complete CBT and training courses.
• Provide recognition of accomplishments and constructive counseling as needed.
