Kroger is seeking an Assistant Department Manager for the Grocery Department in Bellevue, NE. This role supports planning, staffing, training, and directing associates to deliver prompt, courteous service while maximizing sales and profits in a safe, ethical manner.

Qualifications

• Effective written and oral communication skills.

• Understand department operations (staffing, merchandising, ordering, inventory, scheduling, expenses).
• Knowledge of employment laws and OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in organizing work, staffing needs, and training and scheduling associates.
• Respond to customer/associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents and questions professionally.
• Use CAO to manage merchandise orders and balance on hand.
• Perform and direct pricing and display of merchandise; maintain signage and space allocation.
• Engage in merchandising, customer service, product presentation and promotions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, dress code, grooming, sanitation and harassment policies.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Communicate with associates and customers to create a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment and facilities in good, safe condition.
• Keep floor, shelves and grocery areas clean and sanitary.
• Promote company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
