Job summary

Kroger is seeking an Assistant Department Manager for the Grocery Department in Albuquerque, NM. You will assist with planning, staffing, training and directing associates to deliver prompt, courteous service while maximizing store sales and profits in a safe, ethical manner.

You will use CAO for ordering, manage pricing and displays, coach staff on merchandising and customer service, ensure adherence to policies, and contribute input on budgets and goals.

Qualifications

• Flexible scheduling and weekend/holiday availability.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage people and organize workloads.
• Understanding of department operations including staffing, merchandising, inventory, and scheduling.
• Knowledge of employment laws and OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in organizing work, staffing needs, and training and scheduling associates for prompt, courteous service.
• Respond to customer/associate comments, complaints, and questions professionally.
• Use CAO to manage ordering quantities and track product receipts and on‑hand balance.
• Price, display and rotate merchandise; ensure signage and proper space allocation.
