Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies seeks an Assistant Department Manager for the Grocery Department. You will assist in planning, organizing, staffing, training and directing associates while maximizing store sales and profits in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will support the Department Manager with scheduling, merchandising, pricing, and customer service, using CAO for ordering and inventory control, and ensuring safety and policy adherence across the department.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make quick, informed decisions.
• Able to manage people, merchandising, inventory and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Assist Department Manager in organizing work and staffing.
• Provide prompt, courteous service to customers and colleagues.
• Use CAO to order appropriate quantities and manage supplies.
• Price, display and rotate merchandise; maintain signage and space.
• Input on department budgets, goals and results; communicate with staff.
• Ensure clean, safe, and policy-compliant work environment.
