• Produce production, merchandising and customer services related to sale of merchandise.
• Understanding of department operations (staffing, merchandising, ordering, inventory, scheduling, etc.)
• Knowledge of employment laws and OSHA compliance.
• Experience operating power machinery and tools may be required.
• Grocery retail work experience and/or backup manager experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Department Manager in organizing work, staffing, and training associates for prompt service.
• Respond to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests; stay courteous and professional.
• Use CAO to manage ordering and balance on hand in the Department Manager’s absence.
• Perform and direct pricing and display of merchandise with proper signage and rotation.
• Engage team in merchandising techniques, customer service and promotions.
• Follow company programs and policies, including dress code, grooming, and safety.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Communicate with associates and customers to create a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment, facilities, floors and grocery areas to sanitary standards.
• Promote company initiatives to direct reports and implement process improvements.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and workloads; perform any duties as assigned.
