Job summary

The Kroger West Wendover store is seeking a capable candidate to assist the Grocery Department Manager in planning, staffing, training and directing associates, while ensuring top-tier customer service and efficient product flow. You will be involved in ordering, pricing, merchandising and compliance with safety policies.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, reliability and a pro-customer approach, with experience in grocery retail or a backup management role.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dept Manager in organizing work, staffing, and scheduling associates.
• Provide prompt, courteous service to customers.
• Manage ordering quantities and inventory using CAO.
• Handle pricing, signage, rotation, and display of merchandise.
• Advise on merchandising techniques and promotional activities.
• Support company programs and policies, including dress code and sanitation.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Communicate with associates and customers to create a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely per policies.
• Keep floor and grocery areas clean and sanitary.
• Promote company initiatives to direct reports.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and workloads.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
