Job summary

Albertsons Companies' Safeway is hiring a Grocery Department Manager in Hawaii. You will oversee the Grocery Department daily operations, drive sales, maintain in-stock conditions, pricing accuracy, and high merchandising standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead a team, coach staff, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate with store leadership to deliver a full, fresh, and well-organized department daily.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a grocery department or retail team.
• Strong focus on customer service and merchandising standards.
• Ability to train and develop associates and manage schedules.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department with a focus on customer service, sales, and department readiness
• Deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front‑faced, and merchandised to company standards
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment
