You will assist in directing department functions, manage daily operations, and ensure merchandising, loss prevention, and safety rules are followed. The role emphasizes respect, integrity and teamwork within our Kroger family.

Qualifications

• Must have effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with informed suggestions.
• Inform customers of grocery specials and store layout to locate products quickly.
• Implement the department's promotional plan and stay current with ads.
• Monitor and control department expenses and inventory; support merchandising and safety rules.
• Observe shift hours and ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising and proper product preparation in assigned sections.
• Ensure all policies on cash control, labor, safety and loss prevention are followed.
