Job summary

Homeland is hiring a Grocery Manager to greet customers, answer questions, and explain store policies in a courteous manner. You will lead the grocery department, including hiring, discipline, promotion, and evaluation of staff, and you will orient/train new employees as needed.

You will develop weekly labor schedules, implement end-aisle display plans, supervise ordering to minimize out-of-stocks, prepare backrooms, stock shelves, and ensure cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in grocery or retail environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, respond to questions/requests/complaints, and explain store policies courteously.
• Lead hiring, discipline, promotion, and evaluation of grocery staff.
• Orient/train new grocery employees and retrain as necessary.
• Develop weekly labor schedules for the grocery department.
• Implement weekly end-aisle display plans and ad promotions.
• Supervise ordering to minimize out-of-stocks and maintain inventory turns.
• Prepare backroom for merchandise receipt, stock shelves, and maintain displays.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of floors, carts, restrooms, and equipment.
