Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Grocery Department Manager to assist in directing the grocery operations and supervise staff. You will help in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, merchandising, and customer service, while ensuring policy compliance and loss prevention.

You may assume broader store responsibilities in the absence of the Store Director or Grocery Manager, including back-office tasks and cash handling. A strong retail background and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive retail background with prior management experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; proven ability to manage and develop people.
• Ability to supervise employees and maintain composure when dealing with customers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist in operating the Grocery Department; supervise and train personnel.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising.
• Direct and control store operations in the absence of Store Director and Grocery Manager/Asst. Store Director.
• Open and close the store; handle money and cash register procedures.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, security, and company policies.
