Job summary

Roche Bros is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to help lead daily Grocery department operations in Needham, MA. The role focuses on organizing resources, merchandising, and delivering excellent customer service, with the prospect of stepping in as department manager in the absence of the lead.

The position emphasizes teamwork, cost control, scheduling, and adherence to company policies and government regulations to ensure high store performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful experience in grocery operation (merchandising, ordering, inventorying, and pricing).
• Complete training in the grocery operation.
• Ability to display initiative, work with limited supervision, prioritize work load, and have a sense of urgency.
• ServSafe certified.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow instructions.
• Authorized to work within the U.S.
• Must be able to work a schedule based on the business needs of the store location.

Responsibilities

• Provide an open door atmosphere conducive to high associate morale and excellent customer service.
• Promote the company image as a service-oriented operation.
• Ensure the department achieves the standards of performance as outlined in the work and merchandising plan.
• Possess good communication skills, conduct department meetings, delegate and act on opportunities.
• Ensure all new department associates receive proper review and training.
• Responsible for assisting the department manager with inventory, security, and expense control of the department.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Resolve customer complaints to the full satisfaction of the customer.
