Job summary

Safeway in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Grocery Associate to support the Grocery Manager and team in daily operations of the department. You will assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, rotating and merchandising while helping supervise staff and training new personnel.

Responsibilities include upholding customer service programs, resolving complaints, opening and closing the store, and acting as back-up cashier as needed.

Responsibilities

• Champions Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals. Handles customer relations and resolves complaints.
• Performs ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, rotating and merchandising; assists in planning and directing day-to-day operations; controls shrink; prevents sale of out-of-code product.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation, safety, security and other policies; initiates corrective action as needed.
• Opens and closes the store; may act as back up cashier; engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Responsible for performing all duties with accuracy, honesty and integrity.
• Other necessary and required duties and responsibilities as assigned.
