Job summary

Sullivan's Grocery in Brookhaven, MS, is looking for a Cook, Food Service Clerk to prepare, cook and serve food in our store kitchen and cafeteria. You will take orders, serve customers, and handle cash transactions with electronic scanners and cash registers.

The role is full-time, non-exempt, with a flexible schedule. Reports to the Deli Manager and may process credit/debit transactions and checks as needed. Previous food service experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be able to prepare and serve food in a grocery store kitchen/cafeteria.
• Must handle money and transactions using cash registers/electronic scanners.
• Must maintain cleanliness and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers; respond to inquiries and complaints.
• Monitor food preparation methods and portion sizes for quality.
• Investigate and resolve food quality or service complaints.
• Maintain inventories and records of food and supplies.
• Prepare or serve food and clear tables as needed.
• Count money and ensure accurate cash handling.
