Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a team-oriented in-store associate to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a safe and clean environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities include helping customers, stocking shelves, promoting products, and upholding food safety and sanitation guidelines.

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered.
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict respectfully and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
